APPENDIX 2

Locations of Extant Buildings and Projects Presented in the Text

The following is a list of locations for buildings and projects that still stand that have been identified in the essays. This list is as complete as it has been possible to make it, but a few addresses are nonetheless missing. As noted in the essays, these buildings are likely only a limited selection of extant buildings by each architect or firm. The lists for some architects are very short, as many buildings mentioned have been destroyed.

Buildings are identified by their original names. Current names are also usually provided in parentheses, although some buildings may have changed uses and/or names since this list was compiled. The addresses given are current addresses. In some cases, these are not the same as original addresses because street names and address numbering systems have changed over the years.

Since this list is intended to aid in locating buildings, it is organized alphabetically by architect. Under each architect, buildings in Seattle are listed first (in alphabetical order), buildings located elsewhere in Washington State (in alphabetical order by city or town) are listed second, and those found elsewhere in the United States are listed third (in alphabetical order by state and then by city). The few buildings outside the United States are listed last.

Addresses are provided so that travelers may use this book as a guide in finding the works identified in the text. Anyone who does so must respect the privacy of the owners of these buildings. The inclusion of addresses in no way implies the public’s right of entry to any property.
